RE-SERVE

Project

The European project "RESERVE" - "Renewables in a Stable Electric Grid", is funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Program. CRE is a partner in the RESERVE project together with its member TRANSELECTRICA and "POLITEHNICA" UNIVERSITY BUCHAREST.

Coordinator

ERICSSON GMBH (EDD) - Germany

Partners

Representative organizations from Germany, Ireland and Italy.

Duration

The RESERVE project started in 2016 and ended in September 2019.

Budget

4,996,652.50 EURO - Maximum Grant Amount

Objective

The RESERVE project had two interlinked objectives: the achievement of new harmonized grid codes at European level and the definition of new innovative ancillary services to meet the up to 100% integration of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) into the electricity transmission grid.

Role of CRE

CRE had direct contributions in: Work Package 1 (WP1) on system level work for SRE integration, Work Package 2 (WP2) on frequency stabilization modelling, Work Package 5 (WP5) on validation testing of research results and Work Package 7 (WP7) responsible for maximizing the impact of RESERVE on science, industry and society. In addition, CRE has led Work Package 6 (WP6), representing the development of new harmonized grid codes, governance and regulatory issues arising from the grid integration of up to 100% RES.
