The Romanian Energy Center Association (CRE) expanded its portfolio in the field of Innovation in 2020, through the European Project "EDDIE" - "EDucation for DIgitalization of Energy", funded by the European Commission under the ERASMUS PLUS Program.

The EDDIE project aims to create a Sectoral Skills Alliance (SSA) by bringing together all relevant elements in the energy field, including industry, education and training, European organizations, social partners and public authorities. The main objective is also the development of a long-term oriented Action Plan for the digitization of the European Energy Sector, linking the skills requirements for the digitization of the energy sector with the educational and professional offer.
Partner in all work packages, CRE coordinates the dissemination and exploitation activities in WP7, carrying out dissemination activities during the project implementation, as well as presenting the evolution of the project results.
EDDIE project results were presented at the EUSEW 2023 conference.

Representatives of the Romanian Energy Center (REC) participated through the EDDIE Project - "EDucation for Digitalization of Energy" at the "16th ETIP SNET Regional Workshop Western Region" which took place on 28 February 2023 in Bilbao and online.
Recently, the EDDIE project has been included in the Skills Intelligence Platform of the European Center for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP). The main objective is to involve projects in the work of the EC, contributing specific information about the activities carried out, research results related to skills and vocational education and training.
The CRE representatives are pleased to announce that the EDDIE Project - "EDucation for Digitalization of Energy" has been cited in the "Digitalizing the Energy System - EU Action Plan" which was launched on 18 October 2022 by the European Commission (EC). The Action Plan is very important and relevant for the EDDIE Project for the development of the long term sectoral competence strategy and the creation of a large scale partnership on the digitalization of the energy system.

Representatives of the Romanian Energy Center Association (CRE) participated in the webinar "Digitally enabled renewable energy communities: The role of citizens in the clean energy transition", organized Online by the ETIP SNET Platform, Wednesday, 7 September 2022. This webinar presented guidance and practical implications of how adopting a consumer/consumer-centered approach and activating energy communities can be instrumental in enhancing the energy transformation to achieve the Fit for 55 goals and support the REPowerEU plan through the use of digital solutions.
Representatives of the Romanian Energy Centre Association (CRE) participated in the "Networking Event for Pact for Skills Members", organized by the European Commission (EC), in online format, on 31 May 2022. The Pact for Skills was launched in November 2020 by the European Commission as a joint engagement model for skills development in Europe, aiming to maximize the impact of investments in upskilling and reskilling.

The Digital Education Stakeholder Forum was the first major European Event on Digital Education organized by the European Commission since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Representatives of the Romanian Energy Centre Association (CRE) participated in the "PROMOTING COOPERATION BETWEEN DIGITIALIZATION OF ENERGY CENTRES OF EXPERTISE AND DIGITAL INNOVATION HUBs" WORKSHOP, which was organized in the Online environment, by the European Commission, on Friday 25 February 2022. During this Workshop, the EDDIE Project - "EDucation for Digitalization of Energy", set the context for the interventions of Session 1 - "The digitalization of energy: Opportunities, challenges and needed actions for a EU-Local Innovation ecosystem". The European Commission, namely DG ENERGY and DG CONNECT, organized this workshop as a first step towards creating a platform to support innovation ecosystems - bringing together national, regional, local, European institutions and actors in the field of energy and digitization to support investments, skills and expertise in strategic digital technologies in the energy system, from innovation to deployment.

The European Commission has launched the "Pact for Skills" as a key action under the European Skills Agenda, in which national, regional and local authorities, social partners, industry and sectoral organizations, education and training providers and employment services have a key role.
The Advisory Advisory Board (IAB) plays a key role in the external evaluation process in the implementation of the EDDIE project by providing suggestions and input on the project objectives, monitoring milestones and providing final feedback on results and future expectations.
