Objective
It aims to further develop the concept of Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) to manage a wider range of generation and storage assets in a new way. The EDGEFLEX project will explore optimal architectures that will enable VPPs to provide both fast and slow dynamic control services. The proposed solutions could ultimately lead to greater market penetration as well as a stable and secure supply of renewable energy sources.
Benefits
Encouraging regional cooperation between system operators in South East Europe. The project offers 9 different tools to help the Regional Coordination Center in the region to facilitate a greater penetration of Renewable Energy Sources - RES, while reducing operational costs for individual operators at both the transmission and distribution levels of electricity.
Role of CRE
The CRE Association's synergy with the EDGEFLEX project brings to the forefront the revision of the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) concept in the context of the exponential growth of renewable energy generation through digitization and the use of 5G technology.
2022
ASOCIAȚIA CENTRUL ROMÂN AL ENERGIEI A PARTICIPAT LA EVALUAREA INTERMEDIARĂ A PROIECTULUI EDGEFLEX
Reprezentanții Asociației Centrul Român al Energiei (CRE) au participat la Evaluarea Intermediară a Proiectului European „EDGEFLEX” – „Providing flexibility to the grid by enabling VPPs to offer both fast and slow dynamics control services”, care s-a desfășurat în perioada 9-10 Noiembrie 2021. Evaluarea Proiectului s-a realizat de către reprezentanții Comisiei Europene (CE). Proiectul edgeFLEX este finanțat de Comisia Europeană prin Programul Horizon 2020. Cu un buget alocat de 5 milioane de Euro, proiectul a început în luna aprilie 2020 și se derulează pe o perioadă de trei ani.

ASOCIAȚIA CENTRUL ROMÂN AL ENERGIEI PARTICIPĂ LA CONSULTAREA CU ENTITĂȚILE INTERESATE ÎN REZULTATELE PRELIMINARE ALE PROIECTULUI EUROPEAN EDGEFLEX
După finalizarea raportării intermediare, la un an de la debutul implementării proiectului edgeFLEX – „Providing flexibility to the grid by enabling VPPs to offer both fast and slow dynamics control services” și odată cu intrarea în cea de-a doua etapă de implementare, reprezentanții Asociației Centrul Român al Energiei (CRE) au inițiat o serie de consultări cu organizații cheie în domeniul reglementării în energie la nivel european. Proiectul edgeFLEX este finanțat de Comisia Europeană (CE) prin Programul Horizon 2020. Cu un buget alocat de 5 milioane de Euro, proiectul a început în luna Aprilie 2020 și se derulează pe o perioadă de trei ani.

PRIMA ÎNTÂLNIRE A CONSILIULUI CONSULTATIV ÎN PROIECTUL EUROPEAN EDGEFLEX
Reprezentanții Asociației Centrului Român al Energiei (CRE) au organizat prima întâlnire cu membrii Consiliului Consultativ din cadrul proiectului „EDGEFLEX” - „Providing flexibility to the grid by enabling VPPs to offer both fast and slow dynamics control services”, finanțat de Comisia Europeană (CE) prin Programul Orizont 2020, joi 21 Ianuarie 2021.
